We appreciated all the hard work

My name is Special Agent A.W. of the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI). Last year I was assigned to Task Force Black operating out of Kandahar Airfield Afghanistan. The task force was primarily an Air Force unit made up of many different combat jobs, and we regularly operated in the face of the enemy day in and day out. I was nominated to receive letters from Operation Write Home by a fellow service member also assigned to Kandahar. I can say that all the guys at the unit really appreciated the cards and multiple boxes that we got! We appreciated all the hard work that goes into sending those boxes out and really wanted to do something to simply say, thanks. I noticed that your business card was in the first box that we got so the team decided that I carry a flag on some combat missions in honor of you and Operation Write Home.
I want to apologize for the spelling of your name on the certificate; it wasn’t until after we got it framed that I noticed it was spelled wrong!!! SORRY! You will notice the picture of the team and I am the one holding the flag in the middle.

Wow! Quite an honor. Amazing how we think we are doing something so small to help our deployed heros but what a huge impact it truly has. We can’t thank our heros enough for their sacrifice. And it always gets me when they can’t thank us enough for what we at OWH do.
That is so awesome. My son was in 6 yrs in Iraq and he claimed mail was so important. Thanks Kris and all the OWH people for all your dedication to our service men and women. I have to admit, this brought tears to my eyes for both parties.
