Card Sketches with measurements
For almost all our years of operation, sketches were a regular part of our crafting. Working from sketches helps organize elements on a card, and since our sketches are one of the few with measurements – they’re easy for even new crafters to use!

Wow! There were some great interpretation of our last sketch! Thank you so much for all the wonderful cards you made for our deployed troops to send home. We have another fabulous sketch, inspired by another wonderful card. First the sketch. Today’s sketch offers the opportunity for a strong focal point accented by several layers of embellishments. It looks a perfect sketch to use some scraps and snippets of paper. With a deadline of March 31 to get Mother’s Day cards to Sandy, I’m thinking some pretty floral papers may be...read more
Hello and Happy Valentine’s Day! A huge thank you for all those cards you linked up for our last challenge! Your cards were wonderful and will be so appreciated by our troops and their loved ones. This week’s sketch is quite eye-catching. It certainly provides lots of opportunity for some interesting embellishments. Our sketch is inspired by a fabulous patriotic card sent to us by Coni L. You might remember Coni from a Featured Friday Card Maker post last month. Scroll on down to see Coni’s fabulous sample — and marvel...read more
Hi, everyone! Many thanks to those who played along with Sketch Challenge #246. The OWH Community is truly blessed to have so many talented card makers. Sandy’s created another wonderful sketch for us with some great oval and circular elements! Not only would this sketch make for some delightful Easter and Mother’s Day cards, it would also work well for Any Hero cards. As of yesterday, we only had 19 cards linked up for this month’s Any-Hero-card Our Daily Bread Design challenge So, if you haven’t yet linked up a...read more
Is it too late to wish you all a Happy New Year? Hope it’s off to a great start! From the look of the cards you’ve posted these last couple of weeks, it appears some great crafting goodies were received from Santa and his elves. Not only do I want to thank you for all of the cards posted for our last sketch challenge, but I also want to thank you for the inspiration provided in our Top 14 of 2014 Blog Hop. If you’re like me, you made note of cards to CASE, techniques to try, and tools/materials to add to your stash. Now for...read more
Wow! A heartfelt thank you to those of you who left so many well-deserved words of appreciation for Marlene. And, I really appreciated your welcome messages — though I had to LOL when reading sketch shout-outs directed to me. The sketch was indeed wonderful, but it was all Sandy’s handiwork. As always, your cards were fabulous and will be so appreciated by our heroes and their loved ones. And a huge thank you to Doodle Pantry for sponsoring our last challenge! Congratulations to #11 Erika, the lucky winner of the $10 Doodle Pantry...read more

“Good morning peeps!” This is Sandy here today bringing you your sketch in my best Marlene impersonation….did you guess it was me? Marlene’s been busy with life stuff, so I’m hopping in with this week’s sketch for you. Lots of yummy layers to play with – or simplify it by removing one or two! This sketch was inspired by this card sent in by Laurie….it doesn’t look like so many layers when some are white, right? Love how white on white can create the illusion of a CAS card even if it has...read more
Goooood Morning Peeps, and Happy November. Oooooh, do you feel that chill in the air? Yes siree Bob, I’ve had to have my furnace on already. With temps down around freezing you have to fire the burners up. But, on the bright side… colder weather means being indoors more, and that means more crafting time. Yep, there’s always an upside to the downside. Today’s sketch would be a great one to mass produce. Maybe finish up your Christmas cards or, like me, get a late start on them? This fun and cheerful card by the talented Susan is...read more
Good afternoon, peeps! It’s Sandy here, mea culpa in hand. I wasn’t ahead in gathering sketches….so I’m sliding in here for Marlene to post a sketch for this week. Whoops! Since I’m here, I thought I’d chat a little, too. You may or may not know how our sketches come about…there are two ways: We have a team of folks who keep an eye on YOUR challenge cards submitted in our InLinkz. They nominate their favorite card designs that look like they’d make great sketches, and I pick from those to...read more

Now, It’s time for a drum roooollllll – Please! This week I’m bringing to you the…. misplaced Sketch #238! Now you’re not left hanging, wondering what it was. I know. Right?
