Sketch Challenge 245

Wow! A heartfelt thank you to those of you who left so many well-deserved words of appreciation for Marlene. And, I really appreciated your welcome messages — though I had to LOL when reading sketch shout-outs directed to me. The sketch was indeed wonderful, but it was all Sandy’s handiwork. As always, your cards were fabulous and will be so appreciated by our heroes and their loved ones.

And a huge thank you to Doodle Pantry for sponsoring our last challenge! Congratulations to #11 Erika, the lucky winner of the $10 Doodle Pantry coupon. (The winning card maker was chosen using Erika, please e-mail me at cards[dot]by[dot]sybrina[at] to claim your prize.

Now for today’s sketch. Since the deadline for winter cards is December 31, this looks like a great sketch for an Easter card or two.

OWH Sketch 245

Our sketch was inspired by this lovely Christmas card sent in by Linda Anderson, who blogs at The Stamper’s Touch.

OWH Sketch 245 -- sample card

I’m not sure which element is my favorite: the embossed snowflakes, the pops of color on the crisp white background, or that adorable tag. Regardless, Linda’s created one pretty card. Please stop by Linda’s blog to view more of her art and leave a comment.

Now it’s your turn. Looking forward to your interpretations of this week’s sketch!

  1. What a pretty card!
I like the double tie-the ribbon and cord-have not seen that before.
I like she embossed the circle around the sentiment.
Always love an embossed element like the snowflakes which ties into the tag DP.
The pop of color with the berry DP is great. At first glance you could think there were a lot of colors but the clever choices-it’s really only about 3-4. The mix of patterns works too-they dont fight with each other. Nice!

    Congrats on getting picked! 🙂

  2. Love the sketch and the beautiful card!

  3. Great sketch! I played, but I failed in the execution. Painful details on my blog. 🙁
