Sketch Challenge #241

Good afternoon, peeps! It’s Sandy here, mea culpa in hand.  I wasn’t ahead in gathering sketches….so I’m sliding in here for Marlene to post a sketch for this week. Whoops!

Since I’m here, I thought I’d chat a little, too. You may or may not know how our sketches come about…there are two ways:

  1. We have a team of folks who keep an eye on YOUR challenge cards submitted in our InLinkz. They nominate their favorite card designs that look like they’d make great sketches, and I pick from those to reverse-engineer sketches for everyone to follow. So do some amazing work and link it up!
  2. Sometimes I see a card that arrives in a box for our heroes, and pick that as a card to turn into a sketch!

Today’s sample card is one of #2…I just loved the way the three layers work together with the nice circle focal element on top; that could be an image, a sentiment, or even a layered tag! The extra details Mary Ellen added on hers are ones you can sure CASE as well – ribbon, layered embellishing, that little bit of piercing. Cool!

The end of October is sneaking up on us – and we need your help meeting this month’s ODBD challenge. Link up a winter snow card – and get it sent in to OWH! We’ve finished packing all the holiday cards, and would love to have wintry ones to use for the late-requestors in case their cards don’t make it in time for Christmas.

I hope you’ll get inspired by this card like I was….it’d make a sweet Valentine for a guy with these great masculine papers, wouldn’t it?

  1. I am getting cards ready to mail on wed. Know our heroes like to stay in touch eith family and friends back home.

  2. Great sketch and inspiration card! I love any new takes on using tags and this is awesome!
