Sketch Challenge #216

Good Morning Peeps! Sooooo… what have all of you been up to card, or craft, wise? I just got back from a 4 day scrapbooking/cardmaking retreat in the mountains of Kentucky. I go every spring and it’s a fantastic boost for the mojo. Winnie Thacker sponsors the retreat at Carter Caves State Park, and bring 90% of her store, The Scrapbook General Store, with her. This year it was all about spring with all it’s pretty pastel colors. That’s what I’m working on. Also, the color green which I have a terrible time matching up. I don’t do St. Patrick’s Day… but I’ll work on green.

Today’s sketch:216

The inspiration is this card by the oh so talented Deb, and was found on her flickr account. You can see this card, and leave her love, Here.216 sample Debbie C

I hope you’re having a great day and working on a lot of pretties. Give this sketch a try and let me see what you make.

  1. I live in KY and would like more info on the Scrapbook General Store. I tried Googling, but didn’t come up with anything. Do they have a webpage, or other contact info?

    • Hi Jeanne! Winnie’s store is in north east KY, near Ashland. So very handy for southwest WV, southern OH, and northeast KY. Winnie doesn’t have a blog, but she emails newsletters. Here’s the info.

      • Thank you so much! I think a road trip may be in order!!

  2. Omg! As a frog lover, I love that cute character on your card ! And as a crafter tired of winter, I love the cheerful spring attitude your card has. Awesome ! Puts me in major crafting mood:)

    • Thanks Val. The frog is a free digital from Doodle Pantry.

  3. Cute card for today’s sample Deb! Gotta love that adorable frog image 🙂

    • Thank you Carol, it is a free digital from Doodle Pantry

  4. How bright and cheerful your card is. Makes me think of spring, even tho we’re supposed to have snow tomorrow! Ugh – enough winter! Great job, Dec!

    • I agree winter has overstayed her/his visit. Time for spring to…well Spring up!! Thanks for the comment on the card.

  5. What a wonderful card! I recognized the image from Doodle Pantry. I think this card works both ways. “Thoughts of you make me smile,” but I think the card will make the recipient smile, too! (It did me, at least.) Glad to see your card was chosen as inspiration this week, Deb!

    • Thanks Andrea…I had fun making these

  6. Thank you for providing the measurements with each sketch challenge, makes it so easy to play along 🙂
