Sketch Challenge #206

Happy New Year Peeps!! First thing I want to do is say “Thank You” to everyone whose cards we used as an inspiration for last year’s Sketch Challenges. I also want to say “Thank You” to everyone that linked  cards to the Sketch Challenges last year. And last, but certainly not least, to Sandy, Paula, and the rest of the OWH team who have given their help and support to me this past year. “You are all heros and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Reminder: Inspiration for upcoming sketch challenges comes from everywhere… your links to OWH challenges, your blogs, and from cards that are mailed to Sandy for the troops. You just might get an email from me this year asking for permission to use one of your cards for a sketch and as a sample. So keep linking your cards to the challenges, and sending them in for the troops. Ya just never know when you might get an email from me!

That being said… are you ready for the 1st Sketch Challenge of 2014? Here ya go…

Inspiration for the sketch is from this bright and cheerful card from the ever talented Cheryl. Her inspiration came from another card maker whom Cheryl gives credit on her blog “Gone Scrappin…”. Pop over to Cheryl’s blog to leave her some love, and see where she got her inspiration. The link is here.

I can’t wait to see what you make!

  1. I remember seeing this card on cheryl’s blog and LOVING it! So glad it’s a sketch!

  2. welcome back Marlene!! Great choice for the 1st sketch of 2014!!

  3. Cheryl, you are a design expert! All four elements (including the card base) have two to three layers and the colors coordinate in both color (green) and pattern (hearts). This is work to inspire!

  4. The card is absolutely beautiful. So cheerful looking. I can’t wait to try it myself. Thanks for the inspiration.

  5. Such a bright, vibrant card that will certainly bring a smile to the recipient’s face. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Love the sketch and the card!!! I am not seeing the link it just me?

  7. Your card is a beautiful example of perfectly matched papers and design Cheryl! Thanks for inspiring us with this week’s sketch! And no Diane, I don’t see Mr Linky either! He may have become frozen to the fence he was leaning against! LOL

  8. I was wondering if Mr. Linky is trying to tell us does not feel like working on Sundays anymore?

  9. I love everything about this…the sketch and oh, my goodness…the pattern and colors of the paper!!! Off to find the line!!! Great work!

  10. Very excited to finally have some creative time and looking forward to playing in the challenge a whole lot more and also creating card to donate to OWH! WOOHOO!! 2014 is going to be a blast!!

  11. A big thank you to Marlene for her expertly designed sketch, the dimensions and color contrast is just perfect! Thank you for the year long inspiration!

  12. I love this sketch! The sample card is fabulous! Thanks so much!

  13. I wasn’t really sure about this sketch when I first saw it. However, after taking the time to play with it, I discovered it was a lot of fun! Thank you.

  14. I tried this one using a 12×12 that looked more like a pre-made layout. While I wasn’t able to get that paper to work with this sketch, I was able to take inspiration from this sketch and took what I had cut out for this one and apply it to Sketch #52. I look forward to doing this sketch soon though.
