Sketch Challenge #154

Sketch Challenge #154

Happy New Year 2013! I’m Marlene Diefendorf [Marlene D] and your new sketch gal. I have my own blog, but I’m so new to this OWH format that I literally squeak! Some would call me ‘over the hill’, but I’m always ready to learn. So….. Please bear with me? I want to personally thank Julie, who is stepping down after 2 years, for all the wonderful sketches she has posted and all of her hard work. You rock Julie!! Just a reminder… I don’t design the sketches myself. The sketches for this year are designed from cards submitted by our fellow OWHer’s to the various challenges. My job is to write the sketch posts and make sure they get posted on time. Let’s get the New Year started with this week’s sketch:   This sketch was made from this darling card submitted by Bobbi for a previous Midweek Throwdown. You can see more of Bobbi’s wonderful creations on her blog:   Bobbi’s Treasure   I tell ya, I’m lovin the green and orange color combo. And look how well Bobbi has mixed her patterned papers! I’m also thinkin this design could be mass produced very easily, or even make kits to assemble later. Hmmm…… Cardmaking tip: Please make sure the center circle element doesn’t get too bulky. It would be fine to pop dot the complete element, but not each individual layer. The same goes for the knot on the ribbon treatment. We want all the cards our heroes send home to make the trip without getting torn in postal machines. Now…. go forth and get creative! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with, and don’t forget to post your creation in the linky thingy.

Please bear with me… I’m trying to get Inlinkz working.

  1. Great sketch, Marlene! Love Bobbi’s card, especially the layered ribbons. Can’t wait to give this sketch a try!

  2. Welcome, Marlene! Great card, Bobbi!

  3. What a fun looking sketch – thanks Marlene. Looking forward to trying this one — great sample card Bobbi and love the color combo.

  4. You’re doing a great job here if this sketch is any indicator.

  5. Welcome, Marlene! Thanks to Bobbi for sharing her beautiful spring card with us!

  6. Thank you all for the nice comments and warm welcome! I really hope you get a chance to play with this fun sketch.

  7. Marlene, Welcome, you will be a great asset to OWH’s sketch challenges. I love that you took it a step further to explain to people about some do and don’ts. Nice touch and would be very helpful to new comers. Bobbi, fabulous sample. Thanks to both of you.

  8. Congrats on your first sketch challenge post! I love how Bobbi combined the two ribbons. Very pretty.

  9. Love the colors on the sample card!

  10. Thanks for taking on such a big job, Marlene. And thanks Bobbbi for a great sketch! I’m excited to try this and am in love with the ribbon treatment 🙂
