Shari Carroll, Hero Arts Designer
Hero Arts is this week’s Birthday Bash sponsor and as you probably know they’ve partnered with OWH over the past year bringing us six fabulous fundraiser stamp sets. This week I have the pleasure of sharing some amazing cards created by a special guest, Hero Arts Designer and Digital Manager, Shari Carroll. Shari has a fantastic blog, Shari Carroll…my world, that is not to be missed. (She’s got a book, pictures of her crafting space, information about classes and tons of wonderful inspiration… trust me you want to check it out!)
How long have you been stamping? I’ve been stamping for Hero Arts since 1989, 23 years.
Do you have a craft room or specific area where you stamp? I have a small studio just for stamping. It’s small but it’s home!
What are your favorite stamp products? My latest love is the New Hero Arts Mid-Tone inks. They stamp so smoothly with both red rubber and Clear stamps.
Do you have a favorite technique? By far, my all time favorite technique is anything to have to do with white embossing and resist. I love the look of shiny white ink sitting next to vibrant colors.
Are there colors you love to include on your cards? I get teased a lot about always using BROWN. I love earth tones they are my “go to colors”.
How did you hear about Operation Write Home? Jennifer McGuire told me about OWH. I’m a HUGE fan of our military personnel and the sacrifices they make.
What motivates you to make cards for our heroes? I’m a former dependant wife. I’m familiar with deployments and time away from loved ones. Having cards for our heroes to send back to their family is BRILLIANT!!! There is such limited supply for our deployed troops and having heartfelt handmade cards available for them is GENIUS!
