OWHtv: Episode 76 – Winners + Giveaway!
Posted by Operation Write Home on Oct 18, 2012 in OWHtv, Stars and Stamps | 6 commentsCheck out the video to see who won the envelopes – AND the extra prizes I added! As well, be sure to go to the YouTube page to leave a comment there (with your answer to the right question!) and maybe you’ll be the lucky one to attend the Holiday Card Workshop! (Check my blog tomorrow for another chance to win a spot!)
These card shares were some of my favorites from the We R Memory Keeprs card drive this summer. I love the composition, the yellow (of course!), the focal emphasis of the playful elements around the center – and the thinness of the chipboard pieces! And yes, a few large cards are ok; we REALLY REALLY want A2s, but if you have some of the odd sized ones in your stash, you can send them in. Just be sure to include envelopes, we don’t stock those.

I love the great stamping here – those shapes fit pretty darned nicely inside the flower shape (I know I couldn’t do that without special help!) The design is also really clean, and the colors in the paper match the inks well. Plus – only one popped piece makes it a fairly flat card – and the dimensional is a nice thin kind.

I love this playful card! Not only are the elements working together as a nice collected focal point – but the colors all pick up bits of the grid pattern to unite the card beautifully. Even the angle of the plane makes it a jaunty, fun design – and that sentiment? Who wouldn’t love to get a card that says I Love You as High as Airplanes Fly!

Something about moose just makes me smile. And making a missing you card with a darling pun – all the better! The design is nice and simple, the dark cardstock has a liner in it…..and I believe I spy a little May Arts ribbon here

Here’s the final Stump Sandy card. Originally I thought I’d use a flower embellishment; that would go with the flower he’s holding. But as I looked through my stash, I saw the brad and noted how well it matched, I went with that instead! It may be a large brad, but it’s uber-thin…and works fine on OWH cards. Remember to go for shirtbutton thickness, not vintagebutton thickness.

Curious if anyone knows who makes the 6 petal multi-pattern flower stamp with stitched outline shown in the 2nd photo after the video. I think I have seen it before, but can’t place where. Thanks.
That’s a Close to My Heart stamp. I have it and I think it’s a great stamp!
I try to make my holiday cards with a spiritual image (nativity, angel, baby Jesus, etc.) to keep the emphasis on the “Christ” in Christmas. Sometimes I think we forget what or Whom we are supposed to be celebrating. Love, love, love OWHtv! I have learned so much from the tips and design advice you share each and every week. Thank you for all that you do!
