Our Daily Bread Designs June Challenge
Posted by Yolanda on Jun 2, 2012 in Challenges, ODBD Challenge, Stars and Stamps | 15 commentsWe beat the challenge again last month–by the skin of our teeth! Whew! This past month’s challenge proves how important each one of us is to the cause. You make a difference. Thanks! Our winners for the May challenge are:
Congratulations ladies! Email your contact info to me at imaginemakeshare(at)gmail(dot)com and I will hook you up with your gift certificates. Enjoy spending it. ODBD has wonderful products!
This month our challenge is to make shaped cards.
Any shape is allowed as long as it is not a standard rectangle or square card. (Just remember for OWH it has to either fit in an A2 envelope or you need to provide your own.)
Post one card only. When we reach 25 cards our great sponsor Our Daily Bread Designs will pay to ship one box to our heroes. When we reach 50 they will pay for a second box. They also have gift certificates for two winners drawn by random.org. Here’s a few samples from the ODBD gallery to jump start our creativity.

Enjoy!

Too bad I have yard work to do…I really want to get started on this!
Hmmm. This sounds like a real challenge since I don’t have one of those fancy cutters. All I’ve got is one of those guillotine cutters. Challenge accepted!
Wow! This is a big challenge for many of us. Is there an OWH Tutorial for this? A link would be nice
I have a feeling we’re going to have a real challenge getting to 50 this month since some people might be scared off if they don’t have a die-cut machine. If you don’t have a machine, think about making a circular card, octagonal card, or triangular card. I’m going to make an octagon, I think.
I have cut my card stock out with a Nestibilities die and the patterened paper too. Now I have to put it all together and place a sentiment on it. Great challenge! It’s not something I would have done otherwise. Now I have a new technique to fall back on.
There’s no Inlinkz, so I’ll link up here: http://kathrynscards.blogspot.com/2012/06/odbd-june-challenge-shaped-cards.html
If you’re stumped on what to do without a die cut machine, check out my card. I just used a paper trimmer.
I just went with a simple round card, but this is a good challenge and I think I’ll be trying some more shapes soon!
I did use my Silhouette – I got it so I should use it – right – and I like my card – and will post it here when Mr. Linky comes back from his vacation.

I used my cricut. Love that machine especially for cutting shape cards.
This was harder than I thought! Especially trying to keep the card within an A2 size. Still had fun creating though.
Just needing a little help here. I would like to participate in this challenge but do not know where to go to read up on rules, etc. For instance, where do I send my entry. Is it something I link from my blog? (I only have a blog in theory……. haven’t done anything except follow others). See…….. kind of a newbie in these areas. Care to take my hand and show me the ropes?
Thanks for your help, Teena
Hey Teena,
Here’s a link to our OWH Welcome page about how to get started for you: http://operationwritehome.org/welcome/
As far as your blog goes, get your card made up for the challenge and write up your first post & it on your blog. The directions on how to enter into the challenge InLinkz widget is in the sidebar of this (OWH) blog close to the top.
Have fun and welcome to Operation Write Home!
Great challenge, I’d better get with it!
We only need ONE more!
#51 this time! So glad we made it to two boxes again this month!
