My Country/Mit Land Bloghop!

We have a very very special treat for you today: a dual-country bloghop with our sisters in Denmark!

Lisbeth and Sandy at CHA

Until CHA in January, we in the U.S. didn’t know we had a sister organization; two ladies showed up at our OWH booth and told us about it! We were sooooo excited to know that we have more people inspired to do the same kind of work as we are! And even more thrilled to hear that their efforts are causing a change in how the Danish show their support to their heroes. But they’ve begun to turn the tide, and have been getting people to support the heroes themselves, regardless of what they think of the missions they’re assigned to. Just like here in the USA!

They started in 2o1o and love to send cards to their heroes - ‘because there is not a kortudsalg in the desert’ ! The word “Kort” is “Card” in Danish.

So…our bloghop this week will alternate between our American Stars & Stamps blog team and the Danish bloggers - as you hop through, you may get notices asking if you want pages translated so you can read their text (it may depend on your browser; try Google Chrome if you would like it translated, I know that one works!). You could also just look at the photos and click to leave comments as best you can; look for the “usual” place where you’d click to leave a comment and try it, and if the comment window appears, you’re good to go! Danes are bilingual so they do understand what you write :)

Blog Candy!

We’ll choose one lucky commenter from EACH BLOG to win a set of My Favorite Things stamps; it’s a military set and includes the stamps on the card below (as well as on this post)! When our Danish commenters win, they’ll have a choice of that set or we’ll put together goodies that won’t depend on needing English to use on their cards. Come back here next Sunday and we’ll list the winners!

Treats for hoppers: each post has a SKETCH for you!

Yeah, how about that! They were each created after the crafter made their card, so big thanks go out to our fabbbbby Paula who is a design genius and helped out with them. The first sketch….

Without further ado….get busy hopping! You have til Saturday night, July 7, to leave comments – so be sure to leave some OWH-style love on all the blogs! Please share this bloghop link with your friends – they’d be excited to see how another whole country is being transformed by our patriotism expressed here in America!
