Featured Cardmaker: Kelly Marie Alvarez

I hope that you’ve all been enjoying the OWH Birthday Bash. It’s with great pleasure that I introduce you all to a very special cardmaker this week. Kelly Marie Alvarez is the owner of Lawn Fawn,  the sponsor of this week’s  OWH festivities. If you’ve been busy and missed them please be sure to go check out all the wonderful posts at the Lawn Fawn Blog and if you have fallen in love with some of the terrific stamp sets you’ve been seeing in the OWH samples this week, head right on over to do some shopping at the Lawn Fawn site.

How long have you been stamping?

I have been stamping since I was a kid, but I didn’t start “seriously” stamping until 2008. I made a lot of thumb print animals before then! J

Do you have a craft room or specific area where you stamp?

I do have a craft room attached to our Lawn Fawn office. My husband built it for me, and I love it!

What are your favorite stamp products?

Some of my favorite inks are Memento and Jenni Bowlin, and I am a big fan of Cutter Bee scissors and the Tonic guillotine paper trimmer.

Do you have a favorite technique?

This is a hard question! It changes from day to day, but lately I am loving coloring with my Copic markers!

Are there colors you love to include on your cards?

I almost always have some shade of turquoise on my cards. It is one of my favorite colors. Other than that, I tend to bounce around between colors!

How did you hear about Operation Write Home?

I actually can’t remember! I think I read about it online after seeing it on different blogs. I love that OWH is such a part of the card-making blogging world that I can’t remember when I first heard of it. It is becoming known by everyone, and that is a great thing! I was thrilled when I had the pleasure of meeting the folks behind OWH at CHA!

What motivates you to make cards for our heroes?

I think it is such a wonderful cause. We have two women on our design team that have been with us since the beginning that both have husbands in the military. They are such strong women, and I love them both so much. We love supporting OWH because we know that by supporting OWH we are supporting beautiful people like our design team members!

Isn’t Kelly talented!?!? Check out the video tutorial she created for the “so happy” card she shared with us! If you’d like to try it out, we’ve added InLinkz to this post so you can share your version!
