Hey everyone – it’s Sandy here, and I thought it might be fun to provide a little inspiration to launch us into patriotic summertime! We have a couple patriotic holidays coming up – Memorial Day (and our BLOGHOP! Go sign up!)…so I sought out some of our patriotic and summery tutorials to get you started! Remember that OWH doesn’t need cards that say Happy 4th of July on them, but swap the sentiment out for a Missing You or Thinking of You – and it’ll be dandy! Let’s get started…click on an image to go to the tutorial for that card:

As I was searching for one particular card – since I wanted to make it again myself – I realized it never made it over here to the OWH blog – it’s been hiding away on mine all this time! So here’s a repost:

I saw a card in an LSS that I had to CASE right away, I just loved it. Now, I didn’t have the card sample in front of me, and I didn’t have the punch they used, so I made a bit of alteration to it for mine. Here’s a sketch I createdfor it:

When assembling, the first strip to put on is a red one, then layer every other one on top. You also might change the blue box depending on the stars you’ll use in the corner.

I made card kits for a cardmaking party….knowing lots of folks would struggle with a border punch, I

  1. I love the layers and great layout for the flag card. That is so clever and with the different die cuts used I am sure anyone who has a die or punch could do it. Cool idea indeed!

  2. Wow! These are all awesome! Gonna get out the red, white and blue stock today! Thanks for the inspiration.

  3. Great idea, Sandy! I have the Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge that I could use for this themed card.

  4. Such super cute cards Sandy!
