Closed (sorta) for Christmas!

Hello and a Merry Christmas to you all!

It’s Sandy here, and I wanted to let you know we’re attempting to celebrate the holiday with our friends and families; we ask for your patience with responses to emails, as well as receipts for your packages arriving this week. We’ll get to everything as best we can, but as you can probably understand – our shippers need a little holiday downtime too!

We are still working through the holidays – both at dayjobs and on packing, sorting, and triage – while you all get to party fulltime with your families, so please give us some grace. We do appreciate it!

  • We’ll still have posts here on the blog for you and on Facebook, and I’m keeping up with my personal blog. That doesn’t mean we have time for emails or private messages; we’re trying to spend time doing that with our families.
  • All your receipts will be completed before midnight on New Year’s Eve.
  • Year-end summaries will be sent out mid- to late-January, so please understand that requests for early responses may not be able to be met (that’s why you get receipts for each donation – you can get your taxes* prepared using those). It’s a lot of work to put the summaries together.

I have to also complete the annual report and be ready to leave for CHA on January 9, so I’m feeling a tidge stressed.  Nothing a little gingerbread cookie won’t help with, but I hope you can all hang tight with questions for a bit.

Merry Christmas!
Sandy

PS – So many of you have been asking for individual support/advice on various topics from me…and though I try, I really cannot respond individually to everything, especially with the volume recently. If it’s not urgent, it goes in a “to be answered when there’s time” file which could be weeks or months away. Your topic may be covered on OWHtv but not answered in email. I recommend you ask for advice, clarifications, product recommendations, tutorials, and other questions on our Facebook page; that’s followed by many veteran OWHers who are able to help you out too! :) Thanks!!

*OWH is not a tax expert and we are not permitted to give you any advice on valuing your cards for tax purposes, or even giving you an estimate typically used by others. Please do not request such information; ask your tax advisor for assistance.

  1. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with family and friends, and try to get some much needed rest!

  2. I think a year-end summary is over and above the expected. I keep all my receipts for everything.

Thank you for all you do for us. You are appreciated. xo

Have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year surrounded by family & friends. I wish you health, happiness, peace, calm, and rest in 2013. Thank you so much for all you do for OWH and our Heroes. BTW…..I was under the impression that Uncle Sam only required confirmation back up documentation if a SINGLE charitable donation was $250 or more. Otherwise we just need our individual email receipts. Looking forward to being more active with OWH in 2013.

  4. Hope you have some lovely time to relax and enjoy! Many thanks to you and all the OWH team for all you do. We couldn’t support our troops like this without you!
